Our story

To know Destiny’s Chai is to know its founder Destiny: brimming with intentionality, purpose, community, and constant reminders - perhaps especially toward herself - to slow down.

With careful consideration of the origins of each spice, the quality of local honey and the sustainability of its packaging, Destiny's Chai is determined to be a small but significant advocate of a life intentionally lived. “For the love of bringing people together” is not just a slogan, but a conviction for Destiny, whose community is the heart of her business.

Hello! It’s Destiny here and it brings me so much joy to share with you the journey of this business – and it is just that, an unfinished story that is unfolding in ways I could have only dreamt of as a little girl. As I sit here and process my own reflections of life not being about the destination, more so the journey we go on that moulds our entire being of body, soul and spirit.

When I was 16 I was gifted with the most beautiful Royal Albert tea set. It was packaged in a grand pink box and instantly I prized it as my most valuable possession. On countless occasions when my family had visitors it would emerge and I’d offer to make tea for all our guests. Chai was always the crowd favourite.

In 2021 my brother spent some time travelling around India, the birthplace of Chai; Chaiwalas are known to play a significant role in the social and fabric culture of the region, known for their distinct tea blends and the atmosphere they create. Upon his return, my brother encouraged me to experiment and curate my very own Chai. Growing up with a Dad as a chef and our family’s core value of hospitality, I relished in the challenge. After months of trialling different combinations, brewing up chai for friends and family and discovering a new found passion for the significance of spices that have been used throughout history - Destiny’s Chai was created.

Fast forward almost 9 years, I still have my Royal Albert tea set and Destiny’s Chai has been supplying communities across Australia & beyond for three and a half years!
